Cotswold Outdoor and The Scout Association have teamed up to offer in-store discounts to members to offer a year-round discount of 15 per cent for Scouts. The discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount and excludes delivery charges. To obtain the discounts Scouts will need to bring along their Scout scarf.

If you have never been to a Snail Racing night you are in for a treat. The snails race via a large screen DVD animation. You select your snail and visit the ‘tote’ to place your bets. The commentary provides a blow by blow account – just likeAscot. You might even win big!
So please come along on Friday the 23rd of March at 7.30pm. The evening will be informal and friendly. Bring your own drinks and nibbles, glasses will be provided. Feel free to bring along your neighbours and friends.

After 7 years service as our District Commissioner Darren Reed is stepping down to pursue other activities. Romsey District Scouts would like to announce that John Papworth will be taking over the role as District Commissioner from 1st April 2012.
John has had a number of different roles within the Romsey District from Network Coordinator to Assistant Explorer leader. John has also been County Adviser for Explorers, led sub-camps at both Suisse Adventure 2003 and Brownsea Reloaded in 2005, managed all the sub-camps during the Centenary Celebrations on Brownsea in 2007, and has provided ground support for Bear Grylls’ Scouting trips around the UK.
We wish John the very best for his new appointment as the District Commissioner for the Romsey District.

Our DC Darren has taken the hard decision to step down as Romsey District Commissioner. He’s led the Romsey District for the last 7 years and seen the district go from strength to strength, but its now time to look for a new commissioner to take on the role. Anyone within the district can nominate a member for the role of DC.
